Growing up in a multicultural household, I took an early interest in discovering music from around the world. Whether or not I understood the language the song was performed in, I felt connected to the music and loved how a plethora of genres could make me feel a range of emotions. There was rarely a time I didn’t have my iHome radio bumping any station I got a signal for, endlessly browse the CD aisle at the store, or find myself plugging my headphones into my iPod nano (gosh, I sound like such a Zillenial!).

As the former Music Director and host of Full Album Fridays at KX FM, my appreciation for the way music connects us deepened. Being a part of the Laguna community opened my eyes to how much this town cherishes music. From supporting local musicians at Laguna restaurants and art festivals, celebrating the French tradition of “Fête de la Musique,” and taking pride in having a community radio station, it showed me that Laguna Beach is a shining gem along the West Coast.
