About the Show

Every week on Deep Cuts we dive deep below the Waves to bring you some of the best vinyl that Laguna Beach has to offer.  We believe that the medium is often the message when it comes to music, and the physical artifact of a well crafted record stands the test of time. The artwork, the sequencing of the tracks, the production, the liner notes, the pressing plant, the fun little easter eggs tucked away in the etchings of an album represent the complete vision of an artist brought to fruition. As we like to say it’s not final until it’s on vinyl.  Join us weekly as we drop the needle on the workhouse technics table and sit back, relax, and let out Deep Cuts wash over you in awesome wave.

From time to time we feature guests, interviews, and collaborators who share favorites from their record collection. You can follow us on our various social media handles below to engage with the show and content we create for you, our beloved listeners who are gracious enough to share your ears with us.

About the Host

Jonathan got his start on the airwaves at WHUS 91.7 UCONN college and commercial free radio; Upon moving to Southern California, he heard word of a local non profit community oriented radio station called KXFM broadcasting live; right here in Laguna Beach. He could hardly believe his good fortune to discover such a rare pearl. Jonathan joined the station in June of 2014 graciously accepting the mantle of KX’s resident Vinylcologist, he has been spinning records ever since, mostly on Thursday evenings. When he’s not sharing music and good vibes through the radio waves, Jonathan enjoys training Jiu Jitsu, a long standing passion of his; flexing his culinary skills in the kitchen and traveling near and far to add that elusive desert island disc to his collection.
