About the Host
Growing up in Chicago hearing world class radio DJ's, I caught the bug in my teens and would do my own shows in our family basement. Upon learning my University of Wisconsin had a college station I made a beeline to those studios. Capitol Records hired me out of college, a life changing turn of events and I loved working with stations during my time there in radio promotion. I then got to sign bands when they promoted me into A&R. I was instrumental in the acquisition and development of such artists as The Knack (“My Sharona”), Iron Maiden, Duran Duran, Missing Persons, The Motels, Weird Al Yankovic, The Church, and Thomas Dolby (“She Blinded Me With Science”). I also was the A&R guy for Kraftwerk, Delbert McClinton and The Undertones among others, who were already on the label. Eventually I had my "Go Deep" new music show on a couple stations when the opportunity arose to join KXFM a year after they went on the air. What a thrill it's always been to get people excited about new music. When people complain that new music isn't as good as it used to be, my reply is that they aren't listening in the right places. Tune into KXFM, the station tackles that issue very well.
