Join me as we journey into the labyrinth that is rock n roll music. We will explore all genres of music related to rock, from its earliest roots in American R&B to contemporary sounds. We never quite know where the rabbit hole leads us — the British Invasion, Folk, pop music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, Punk, New Wave, Reggae, Ska, and perhaps, a protest song or two. Did someone say Metal? What? Our musical adventure promises intrigue, fun, and surprises. Join me, Ross Hering, your host of Rabbit Hole Radio on KXFM 104.7, Laguna Beach.

About the Host

Welcome to Ross Hering’s Rabbit Hole Radio on KXFM 104.7, a diverse musical wonderland that follows a vibe from the earliest days of Rock n Roll music to today. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I’m a child of the 60s & 70s with roots to radio dating back to KVAN 1480 AM Portland, OR. This was an AM station with the heart & playlist of an FM station. I loved calling DJs to try and solve their mashups to win albums. I remember the thrill of winning Nils Lofgren Live (double LP)! I’m grateful to my parents for sharing their love for listening to music on vinyl
and on the radio. Thanks, mom, for playing Beatles records for me and my brothers and for taking us to see Yellow Submarine at the Cinema in 1967. Little did I know the profound impact the Beatles would have on the rest of my life. As soon as I could drive, I began attending concerts in the Pacific Northwest, a passion that has stayed with me throughout my life journeys to the Bay Area, Los Angeles, and Orange County. I’m grateful to be part of a like-minded group of volunteer hosts who share their passion for radio daily on KX FM 104.7 Laguna’s Community Radio.
