Grant Owens

Grant Owens is the Founder of We Found New Music (a groundbreaking artist discovery platform), an A&R for the “Soundsplore” app (dedicated to independent artists), and a Talent Scout providing A&R services to the music industry.

Grant is a graduate of the Thornton School of Music at USC, with a degree in Music Industry. He has served in a variety of talent-promotion and curation roles: A&R Talent Scout at Elektra Records; Casting Producer for America’s Got Talent; Creative Director at the Peppermint Club in West Hollywood; and Production Coordinator for Universal Music.

Since 2012, We Found New Music (WFNM) has been at the forefront of artist discovery. Grant has been instrumental in discovering and promoting such new artists as Billie Eilish, Kim Petras, Dermot Kennedy, Arlo Parks, CIL, Yungblud, Lauv, Ava Maybee, Sigrid, Alicia Creti, Alec Benjamin, and Imagine Dragons.

Since 2014, WFNM has presented weekly live showcases in Los Angeles at popular venues including the Sunset Boulevard go-to venue, Hotel Ziggy, the intimate Bar Lubitsch, the legendary Troubadour, and speak-easy venue Madame Siam.

WFNM has presented official SXSW showcases in Austin, Texas, since 2015. Key highlights include Kim Petras’ first live show; Sam Fender’s second US show; an early show in Billie Eilish’s career; and key performances by The Marias, Flyana Boss, and Dermot Kennedy.

Grant’s additional promotional activities have included a biweekly radio show, on LA’s award-winning ‘The Socal Sound’ on 88.5 FM, which features live performances and interviews with new artists. Grant also airs on the community based digital radio platform, Litt Live Radio, which can also be streamed on demand worldwide.
