About the Host
I have been a professional artist, designer, production designer, engineer, and fabricator for 47 years. Although known primarily for my fine art endeavors as a painter, I’ve also had decades long careers in ceramics, public art projects, the hospitality and resort industries, fabrication, and design as well as a production designer, art director and prop and set builder in the entertainment industry. I have designed and fabricated over ten site specific public art installations, including a 60-foot sculpture for a commercial project titled, “Mercury Falling”, fabricated from 316L mirror polished stainless steel. I have also been a finalist in the National Portrait Gallery portrait competition in Washington DC as well as a finalist in the BP portrait competition at the National portrait gallery in London, England. I maintain an art and fabrication studio in Laguna Beach, CA. where I continue my daily practice working on a variety of commissioned projects and other creative endeavors, including playing drums in a jazz quartet. I was appointed to the Planning Commission for the city of Laguna Beach where I devote time working to solve important issues facing my community.
