About the Show
In 2012 I was asked to be a co-host of the “Radio Neighboring Show” on KXFM with master DJ, Cindy “Ida Mae” Obrand. Ida Mae and “Tommy J” played bluegrass music and entertained “road-kill-recipes” with her sister Modine. In 2017 I launched my solo “Laguna Tropical Surf” show, which continues now on Sunday evenings 5 to 7pm on KX FM 104.7. I play Hawaiian Meles, vintage surf tunes and invite concerts by local musicians. My “Surf Report” is curated by KXFM precipitation-prognosticator-meteorologist, Dave Murray!

As a Ukulele Instructor, I started the Laguna Beach Ukulele Academy. You may have seen our Ukulele Marching Band in the Patriots Day Parade, or leading Santa’s Hospitality Night Carols at the Tree Lighting Ceremony. I play ukulele in the “The South Laguna Garden Band,” “Seaview Serenaders,” “Mana & Garden Band Duo,” and anyone else who will let me strum along.
