    About the Show

As a 2018 Saddleback College’s Angels For The Arts board member, I entered the introductory radio course. Outcome: creating and hosting my Rockin With The Doc Show (4 years) on OC Rock Radio.

Entering my 4th year with KXFM Doo Wop highlights have been added to the musical library of LOVE song poetry.

Welcoming feedback from Laguna Beach locals continually ignites the flame of creativity for my shows. Time on air “remembering” with listeners remains a BLAST. I love it!

    About the Host

As physician host of Rockin With The Doc Show, I prescribe “Dr. Bob’s Saturday Wake Up Music Treatment”:

”Close your eyes, clear your mind, take a deep breath, exhale, listen to the essence of classic oldies and appreciate harmony, simplicity and the very beginnings of rock and roll”.

During my “on air” 1950s and 1960s show, rock history, trivia, artist spotlights and dedications/requests, audiences re-live memories and discover new ones. Essentially, newcomers to early rock and roll realize these vocals and instrumentals are indisputable proof rock and roll is here to stay.

I’ve always loved music, took singing lessons, auditioned for Ted Mack’s Amateur Hour (unsuccessfully) and collected 45s and albums from New York City’s Cousin’s Record Shop in The Bronx. Sang with Prep Bowling teammates around jukeboxes and listened unfailingly to Alan Freed, Murray the K and Cousin Brucie on AM radio – NY teenager.

Even during physician residency training, attending physician and hospital consultant status days, I was known as Dr. Bob “singing surveyor/physician”.
