Steve “The Ruckus” Whelan

Who would have thought a free mp3 Cd compilation out of a magazine (remember those paper thingy's?) would set me on a whole new way of life?
Well, that's exactly how it happened... the CD also came with some free DJ software that allowed me to mix compilation CD's for my "Keep Fit" classes. Yes, I'm that old (to say "keep fit")
Turns out it taught me the basics of music theory and a few in's and outs of the DJ world. Never one to take the easy route, I figured, hey I don't need software to automate my mixing so I bought a pair of classic Technics Turntables and set off on my journey into club DJing with my passion for dance music.
Oh, how wrong I was. After all, being a DJ is easy, right? Err, not really. Ever tried it? So after a couple (ok, a few, I mean a ton) of lessons I felt confident to teach what I know and gave free lessons for many years to those who wanted them. My experience had led me to playing clubs, bars, festivals and private events.
After hearing about our local FM station I walked in the door and asked for a spot on the schedule.
You don't get what you don't ask for, right (normally)? I've been blessed to be on air for many years and still give back to the community by DJing free events and supporting my fellow DJ's
So tune in to hear the best in EDM (electronic dance music to us old ravers)
