Jinkies! Is it already October? As we head into Spooky season we wanted to give you a quick recap of the happenings over the past few weeks since we re-launched.

KXFM DJs gather on stage at the Rivian Theater. Jim Collins/LB Indy

We had a stellar turn out fitted with a velvet rope and everything on Friday, the 13th. A special thanks to Chayu, Steve “The Ruckus” Whelan, Bhushan Thakkar and the team at the Rivian for helping us throw one of the best parties of the year.

Dreams came true as we launched 20 new shows the following week with our “Neighborhood Block”. The likes of locals Richie Schley, Hans Hagan, Greg MacGillivray and father-son duo Ryah & Gary Arthur made their debuts along with Laguna’s finest.

A shoutout is in order to John Ford, Cindy O’Brand as well as our 60 veteran DJs have kept the ship rockin’ and rollin’ through this transition. We are so pleased to welcome back Zach Churchill and Pat Parnell to the station! And of course don’t miss Jason Feddy every weekday on “The Feddy Factor” from 9 to 11 a.m.

Please note: you can stream ALL these fantastic shows as podcasts on our website. + We will be launching video podcasts on YouTube soon so stay tuned to watch your hosts in action!

You may have heard whispers that we are due to move the station down the block. Well, we’ve officially been approved to do so by the city’s Planning Commission! This means not only more affordable rent, but a ground floor space that will act as a central hub. Fitted with an outdoor community lounge for gatherings and events as well as an indoor common area to be converted to a “Tiny Surf Shop” concert space.

All of this adds up to more community and obviously more fun!

But when and how? That’s the big question. We will need engineers and designers to get this right, which is going to cost money. Our upcoming fundraising campaigns will be pointed towards this as our prime objective.  If you haven’t already, will you consider becoming a KXFM member? We need the support of the community to make this happen. Remember: all donations are tax deductible. Just click HERE!

Lastly, we will leave you with a quick teaser: KX Takeover is BACK! If you have interest in volunteering please send us a message by clicking the orange button below. Tune In starting November 11th to hear our Guest DJs take over the airwaves. You’ll be in for a treat (no tricks!)

As always, Turn On your favorite radio station KXFM 104.7. Check out our full on-air schedule + more here!

Much love, from the KXFM team x
