About the Host

Since June of 2016, I've been hosting Open Water on KX, championing great new indie music from across the globe — with a particular focus on touring artists. I comb the music blogs, venue listings, TV & film, social… wherever anyone is talking about music. I even catch obscure bands off t-shirts and on alley walls. In any city I find myself in, I’m asking the clerk at the record shop who’s around. If you give me a heads-up, it goes in the queue. I love the never-ending tapestry that music manifests in the world, and the constant tide of new sounds. But everything is, of course, new & not-new at the same time, so I typically play something from the first wave that influenced the current wave… post-punk, shoegaze, dreampop, garage rock, indie rock & indie pop. They always told me if you truly loved something, you’d do it for free. KX hasn’t made me a better offer anyway, so here we are. While you were reading this, some musician kicked a wall down. I gotta go. If you love music, support the artists (preferably at the club).
