A year ago, lead singer of fun. Jack Antonoff announced a new solo project called Bleachers and went on to enjoy a wildly successful first year of activity. In December, Rolling Stone named the band’s first single, “I Wanna Get Better”, number 18 of the 50 Best Songs of 2014; Billboard ranked their debut album, Strange Desire, at number 6 of the Top 10 Albums of the year. What began as Antonoff’s pseudo-secretive songwriting experiment on his laptop in hotel rooms during fun.’s 2013 world tour, Bleachers has quickly become a big name in its own right. With just the right blend of pop, rock and electronic textures, their sound is as infectious as it is anthemic. In a 2014 Rolling Stone interview, Antonoff revealed his inspiration for Bleachers, saying he wanted to “bridge the gap between Disclosure and Arcade Fire — something both streamlined and organic”.
