Matisyahu Focuses on Emotional Journey in Latest Acoustic Tour

Matisyahu isn’t a hitmaker. And he’s proud of that.

“Thank God I made a couple hits because those are the songs that are really still connecting with people, […] this record is more like when everything isn’t all sunshine”(most recent album),  said the rap/reggae artist in a recent interview on KX FM 104.7 FM’s “Daily Scramble Live.”

In the interview, Matisyahu (Matthew Paul Miller) goes into detail about what inspired his most recent album “Akeda” including shaving his beard, abandoning Orthodox Judaism, and his divorce. The album is sad, he admits, and he wants people coming to his show to expect to take that emotional journey with him.
Catch Matisyahu at the Coach House this Friday, November 13th and listen to the full 15-minute interview here.
